With thousands upon thousands of square footage of hardwood flooring installed over the years, we take pride in creating hardwood flooring that is built to last. In addition to installation and refurbishing, we provide a vast array of service and maintenance services that will extend the life of your hardwood flooring, and prevent damage to finishes.
There are a wide variety of installation systems for floors. Some of the most popular include: tongue-and-groove, “click” systems, floor connection systems, glue-down method, and floating systems. Tongue-and-groove fit together via a tongue and groove carved into each plank. Click systems are similar to tongue-and-groove, but the board needs to be angled in to make the tongue fit. No adhesive is used in “click” systems. Glue down method and floating installation methods can be used in combination with the aforementioned systems. The Glue down method involves gluing the floor onto a subfloor. Floating installation occurs when the floor is not glued or nailed onto a subfloor. Our expert flooring consultants will determine the type of installation required during the project site inspection.
What exactly is refinishing? When should it be used instead of replacing your hardwood flooring? Refinishing consists of sanding off the finish from an existing wood floor. The floor is smoothed and covered with a new finish, replenishing the look and feel of the original hardwood. Our hardwood refinishing process breathes new life into your hardwood flooring, eliminates scratches, and levels areas of minor unevenness. Refinishing your hardwood flooring in an affordable and eco-friendly alternative to replacement.
What is the difference between solid hardwood and engineered hardwood flooring? Both are real wood with no synthetic materials. However the manufacturing process is different. With solid hardwood flooring, each flooring plank is made of a single piece of wood. Engineered wood flooring is produced from hardwood/plywood core with a hardwood veneer added to the surface. Most engineered hardwood flooring products are easier to install, less expensive, and more resistant to moisture.
